This detector has two optical modes – Mode A reveals infrared light sources that night vision cameras emit, and Mode B catches standard camera lenses by reflection in normal lighting. Turn the lights off and switch to Mode A. Scan every surface – alarm clocks, smoke detectors, USB chargers, anything with electronics inside. IR sources that shouldn't be there will glow through the viewfinder.
Daylight Sweeps – Living Areas & Offices
Cameras in well-lit rooms don't need night vision – they record with ambient light. A lens hidden in a bookshelf, wall clock, or power adapter blends into the background.
Switch to Mode B and sweep surfaces systematically. The infrared beam reflects off camera lenses regardless of whether the camera is active, creating a visible dot through the viewfinder that surrounding objects don't produce.

1. What's the difference between Mode A and Mode B?
Mode A detects infrared light sources – it finds cameras that use IR LEDs to record in the dark. Mode B detects lens reflections – it finds any camera lens by bouncing infrared off the glass. Use Mode A in darkness, Mode B in daylight.
2. Does this detect wireless signals or RF?
No. This is an optical-only detector. It finds cameras by their physical lens or IR light emission. For wireless signal detection, pair it with an RF detector like the RF Hidden Camera Detector.
3. Will Mode A work if the camera isn't using night vision?
No – Mode A specifically detects infrared light being emitted by the camera. A camera that records in daylight without IR LEDs won't show up in Mode A. That's what Mode B is for – it catches all camera lenses regardless of IR activity.
4. How is this different from the WEGA-i?
The WEGA-i is a premium lens finder with IR-filtering glass and 10m range, designed to eliminate false reflections. This detector adds a dedicated night vision detection mode (Mode A) that the WEGA-i doesn't have, at a lower price point. The trade-off is no IR-filtering glass and shorter detection range.
5. What's the test lens for?
